An EV charger specification sheet is most useful when it describes the exact configuration you are buying. Use this reading checklist to organize your questions, identify missing information and record the version approved for your project. This guide is for procurement planning; installation and electrical verification require qualified personnel.
Identify the exact model and revision
Start with the model number, document date and configuration reference. Ask whether the sheet describes a whole product family or the specific version in the quotation. Keep the approved document with the purchase order so later discussions refer to the same specification.
Check input and connection requirements
Locate the stated supply requirements and the supply-side connection arrangement. Record the connector or plug version being quoted and any installation accessories included. Ask your local installer or technical adviser to confirm suitability for the intended location before ordering. Avoid choosing a product from appearance alone.
Read output ratings and available settings
Record the rated output, current settings and any conditions stated by the manufacturer. If a product family offers multiple ratings, ask which one belongs to your quoted model. Request clarification when the brochure, quotation and product label use different descriptions. Do not treat a headline rating as a guaranteed charging result for every vehicle and site.
Separate included features from options
Create two columns: included in the quotation, and optional or to be confirmed. Use them to check displays, access control, communications, apps, cable lengths and mounting accessories. For connected products, ask what hardware, software access, subscriptions or third-party services are needed for the functions you intend to use.
Review environment, protection and documents
Find the stated environmental ratings, operating conditions and listed protection features. Request the associated installation and user instructions, and clarify any limitations. Ask for test reports or certificates relevant to the exact model and destination market; a logo in a brochure alone is not enough to identify the document scope. Have market-specific requirements checked by an appropriate local specialist.
